A salute to
our fallen soldiers...
ANZAC Day was officially named in 1916 to commemorate
the Australian and New Zealand troops who fought and died at
Gallipoli during World War I.
On April 25th, we take the time to remember the fallen soldiers who
have died for our country and we salute their courage and service.
May they rest in peace and may we continue to honour their memory.
Lest
we forget.

COULD
this be the future of hospitality?
Travel Daily reports that a German restauranteur and inventor says
guests are rushing to dine at his new completely automated eatery in
Nuremberg.
The restaurant, curiously named 'S Baggers', doesn't have any waiters,
with all tables equipped with touch screen ordering stations.
After the meals are prepared (by real chefs) they place the finished
dishes on a rail system which carries the food to the customer who
ordered it.
The system's developer, Michael Mack, said he's patented the system and
is fielding inquiries from across the globe.
Not sure if this is our way of dining. Cant help thinking how you could
ask a question, make a comment or lodge a complaint. Surely we all go
to a restaurant to be waited on.

The hottest item at the moment
is the Lost Property Recovery Tag
Global Bag Tag.
This is due to the fiasco with British airways in
Terminal 5 at Heathrow. Up to 50,000 bags at one stage were
separated from their passengers. Imagine the chances of getting
them re-united. All airways in Europe are hooked into the Global
Bag Tag system and so they can get messages to the owners mobile phones
to advise how to collect their luggage.
On average there are 350,000 bags lost around the world
per month.
Their sole source of items to sell in their gigantic
store is unclaimed baggage from airlines and bus companies. They
stock an amazing 7,000 items PER DAY from who knows how many suitcases.
The lost baggage/luggage problem will continue to get
worst unfortunately as it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep
the bags following the passengers as they land in one terminal and then
shift to another terminal.
For further details and pricing of the Global Bag Tag,

In Sydney Harbour on Sunday 24 February 2008, an historic moment
occurred. Cunard Line's newest ocean liner, Queen Victoria, and her
majestic sister Queen Elizabeth 2 passed each other on either side of
Fort Denison sounding a whistle salute.
Following a visit by both Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth 2 to New
Zealand, this Royal Rendezvous on the Harbour signified Queen
Victoria's first visit to Sydney and Queen Elizabeth 2's very last.
Queen Victoria was launched in December 2007, and is the second largest
Cunarder the company has ever built. This elegant liner offers private
balconies to more than 70 per cent of her guests, including 127 suites
and penthouses.
Designed to reflect the very best of Cunard's heritage and traditions,
Queen Victoria harks back to the golden era of ocean travel, featuring
luxurious decor including opulent crystal chandeliers, rich wood
paneling, intricate mosaics, and an art collection valued at over 2
million pounds. She also features some exciting innovations including the
first two-storey library at sea and the first West End-style viewing
boxes at sea within its majestic Royal Court Theatre.
Her beautifully-appointed public rooms include the three-storey Grand
Lobby; the Queen's Room, with its grand doubleheight ceiling and
crystal chandeliers; the Winter Garden, a British-style conservatory
complete with retractable glass roof to allow guests to enjoy the
gentle sea breezes; and Hemispheres Lounge, offering spectacular
270-degree views through floor-to-ceiling windows.
In order to celebrate the launch of Queen Victoria, and to commemorate
her Royal Rendezvous on Sydney Harbour with Queen Elizabeth 2, please
enjoy a selection of photos honouring the occasion.
